MET Institute of Computer Science students hosted a Professional Mentorship Alliances
event for the MCA batch of 2023-2025, aimed at preparing students for their upcoming
placement processes. This event, held on 25 th May, 2024, brought together a distinguished
panel of MET MCA alumni who shared their invaluable insights and experiences with the
current students.
After the inauguration of the event, Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET-ICS welcomed
the gathering. Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Course Coordinator, MET-ICS, introduced the PMA
and the goal envisioned as an outcome of the program.
Mr. Bhushan Gaonkar, Quality Head, Xoriant; delivered an insightful session on "Process and
Quality Management." He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in
processes and the role of quality management in ensuring successful project outcomes. His
talk provided students with a deeper understanding of industry expectations and best
practices in quality management.
Mr. Sunil Patil, Senior Manager, Asian Paints; session on "Cracking the IT Interview" was
highly engaging and practical. He shared tips and strategies for excelling in IT interviews,
including how to effectively present skills and experiences, tackle challenging questions, and
make a lasting impression on interviewers. His advice was particularly valuable for students
gearing up for the competitive placement season.
Following the keynote sessions, students had the opportunity to interact with several other
esteemed alumni in smaller group settings. The alumni included Mr. Bhushan Gaonkar, Mr.
Sunil Patil, Ms. Shirley Sequeira, Product Manager, Sciative, Mr. Suraj Nag, Senior Software
Engineer, Cornerstone OnDemand, Mr. Rohit Kahar, Software Engineer, RXO Angular, Mr.
Zark Kazi, Associate, NEC Software Solutions India, Mr. Jatin Yadav, Senior Full Stack
Developer, CloudCover and Mr. Jignesh Khandelwal, Associate Consultant, Golden Source.
These sessions allowed for more personalized guidance and in-depth discussions on specific
career paths and industry trends.
The Professional Mentorship Alliances event was a resounding success, leaving the MCA
batch of 2023-2025 better prepared and more confident about their placement journey. The
students conveyed their appreciation for the mentors' time and insightful counsel, which
