On 8th October 2024, MET Institute of Management hosted a session by our alumnus, Mr. Jimmit Dand, Senior Treasury Manager at Poonawalla Fincorp Ltd. With over a decade of expertise in corporate finance, treasury management, and fundraising within the Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) sector, Mr. Dand shared invaluable knowledge on the topic: "Navigating Treasury in a Changing Financial Landscape."
During the session, Mr. Dand discussed the strategic importance of treasury in managing cash flow, optimizing liquidity, and ensuring an organization’s financial sustainability. He addressed the complexities of fundraising in volatile markets, explaining the role of financial instruments such as bonds and commercial papers, while highlighting the significance of maintaining strong relationships with financial institutions and investors.
A key focus of the discussion was risk management, with Mr. Dand providing insights on mitigating interest rate and currency risks through effective hedging strategies.
