Three faculty members from MET IOP (Degree) actively participated in a 2-day Industrial Training program focused on Technology Equipment & Processes for Oral Solid Dosage Form for Pharmacy Faculty. The training took place at ACG, Shirval, in the Process Development Lab. The daily sessions were divided into a morning lecture series and afternoon activities, including demonstrations and a visit to the shop floor. These two days were highly dynamic and filled with valuable insights.
During the training, the faculty gained knowledge about the fabrication of various equipment manufactured by ACG for the production of tablet and capsule dosage forms. Demonstrations were conducted for equipment such as FBE, Wruster coater, High shear granulator, tabletting machine, wet milling machine, air handling unit, wet scrubber, and all the quality control tests associated with tablet and capsule dosage forms. The training delved into advanced technologies, providing in-depth coverage of processes like Hot melt granulation and rotor granulator/coater, emphasizing their environmentally friendly aspects and high efficiency.
The session concluded with a talk by Dr. Sunil Bhagwat, Director-IISER Pune, focusing on strengthening the interaction between industry and academia for the benefit of students.
