The first and third year students of M.E.T. Institute of Pharmacy went on an educational visit to the Hospital Pharmacy and Central Sterile Supply Department of Lilavati Hospital on 3^rd, 4^th, 10^th and 11^th April 2019. The head Pharmacist explained the dispensing procedure of medicines. The pharmacy was divided into 6 sections viz. injectables, tablets, LASA (Look Alike Sound Alike), nutritional products, syrups and surgery instruments. Chemotherapy, high risk drugs and controlled substances were in locked cupboards and the Regulations for the same were also explained to the students.

The CSSD unit’s working was also showed in detail. It is located close to the operation theatre to ensure quick delivery. The full process of the instruments being first checked, washed in ultrasonic instrument, rinsed, dried and packed was all practically done along with steam and ethylene oxide sterilization. The visit was a great endeavour.
