MMS Syllabus | AY 2024-2025 | Updated Curriculum

University of Mumbai has restructured Master of Management Studies (MMS) syllabus, effective from the academic year 2024-25. This revision is aimed at addressing the global shifts in business practices, and demands that are rising due to changing corporate dynamics world over.

MMS programme is a Two-year, full-time, post-graduate programme, affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). At MET Institute of Management this MMS program is accredited by NBA, which will be following this updated syllabus to ensure the students are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in a rapidly changing corporate environment.

The workplaces have been evolving, hybrid and remote work models are becoming increasingly common. Despite this, several traditional theories in HR and organizational behavior still hold sway. The new MMS syllabus balances these conventional approaches with the flexibility required for modern workforce management, preparing students to lead in dynamic conditions.

Additionally, the rise of fintech companies has significantly altered the financial landscape, creating fierce competition with traditional banks. This updated curriculum reflects these changes, incorporating the latest industry trends. The syllabus also highlights the shift towards automated and custom-made manufacturing practices, which are now replacing traditional methods for improved efficiency.

In marketing, the integration of social media influencers, digital content creators, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) has transformed consumer engagement. The restructured MMS syllabus emphasizes these advancements, ensuring students develop practical knowledge in these areas. Key components of the new MMS syllabus include:

  • Changes in global business models and economic systems
  • Technological advancements and new industry practices
  • Focus on experiential, application-oriented learning
  • Ethical and pragmatic considerations for today’s business leaders
  • Alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Higher Education Qualifications Framework (NHEQF)

This restructured curriculum provides MMS students at MET Institute of Management with the hard and soft skills necessary to excel in a competitive global marketplace.
