Students of MET Rishikul Vidyalaya performed a Street Play based on Water Conservation, today, at one of Mumbai’s busiest churches, the St. Michael’s Church, Mahim. Through this short skit students gave a message to the community members about importance of conserving water. They suggested ways to save water at personal level instead of waiting for government action. They spread the message of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to conserve and use water resource efficiently and sustainably. The play was performed in Hindi to ensure that large number of people from the community understands and is able to relate to the message.
People from all walks of life visit this church every Wednesday to attend a prayer service and we thought it would be a great way to reach out to a good number of community members. Students performed the Skit twice at intervals of 15 minutes to reach out to maximum number of people and effectively communicated their message. Onlookers were impressed by the performance and pledged their commitment to the cause.
