CAL POLY VISITS MET
MET League of Colleges played host to a delegation of management students and faculty of Orfalea College of Business, Cal Poly, USA on June 24, 2013. The delegation was on an educational tour to India, visiting economically important cities on the country like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. During their visit to MET they interacted with Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Trustee, MET and exchanged thought and ideas with MET faculty and students to get Indian understanding on the local and global issues.
They, then were taken on a guided tour of the state of the art MET campus, which was followed by insightful session delivered by Mr. Sandip Tarkas, President - Customer Strategy and CEO - Future Media & T24, at Future Group. He spoke on “Retail Business - An Indian perspective” quoting real business instances in Indian context.
The visit also had a fun element to it, the Cal Poly students played a friendly Cricket match with the team MET, which was immensely enjoyed by overseas students. Then they moved ahead with their further visit to Mumbai. Joined by few MET students the delegation proceeded to visit prominent business houses in the city like - Barclays India, eBay India, IBM India, Diamond manufacturing company in SEEPZ and also The Taj Mahal Hotel. “It was a great learning tour and we thoroughly enjoyed great Indian hospitality”, said one visiting student.
