MET Schools of Management organised HR Meet on ‘Innovation in Organisational Positivity’ on October 20, 2012 at MET Convention Centre. The HR Meet began with a welcome address by Prof. Vijay Page, Director General - MET IOM to all the guests, corporate, speakers, faculty and students. He emphasised that this was a new and unique subject and MET would like to spread the concept of positivity all around, including in the corporate world.  He opined that HR function had evolved from the Personnel Management function and now has to further evolve in the function of the heart, which is positivity. Negative Communication should be avoided and positivity and spirituality should be spread within in the organisation. He informed the audience that a Centre for Innovation in Organisational Positivity was inaugurated on 15th August 2012.

Mr. Prashant Khambaswadkar, Chairman - NIPM & CEO - Universal Group played the role of Chairman of the HR Meet elaborated on the importance of positivity. Mr. Prasenjit Bhattacharya, CEO - Great Place to Work gave the Keynote address on how positivity was spread in different organisations. Prof. Dr. Farida Virani, Faculty, HR and Behavioural Sciences - MET SOM gave a brief introduction on Diagnosing Organisational Positivity. MET Mumbai and Nasik team presented their findings from several companies belonging to different sectors on diagnosing organisational positivity, which was very informative & interesting. Mrs. Shikha Banerjee, Dy. General Manager - HR and heads the function at Shapoorji Pallonji Real Estate Division gave live examples from her experience with Thermax and from Shapoorji Pallonji, which illuminated the audience on the positive practices of both companies which had a very good impact on motivating the employees and improving productivity. Mr.  Vikas Shirodkar, Vice President HR - General Motors, began his speech talking about J&J where he was Head HR. Prof. Jairaj Kochavara expressed a view, which was different from the earlier speakers.

Most of the Corporates are going headlong for Turnover, Profits, and Growth and have forgotten the Values and Virtues, which we in India have got from our ancestors. Positivity, if at all, is practiced only within the organization but not outside the organization with its various stakeholders like shareholders, suppliers etc.  MET management students Rohan Shah and Pragya Rathore gave presentation on the corporate view on Positivity. Presentation elaborated positivity from an internal point of view i.e. as regards board of management, employees and shareholders and gave examples from companies like Colgate, Tata, Google and Infosys.  Mr. Deshpande, Zonal Head – HR, Coca-Cola Maharashtra - Goa Zone opined that the subject of the conference namely ‘Innovation in Organisational Positivity’ was an interesting and relevant subject both for organisations and for individual employees. Prasanna Soparkar “Core Integra” gave some live examples of positive actions: He collected about 30 old cycles from his society and donated them to poor children who had to walk miles to attend their schools, provided opportunities to poor children for swimming and horse riding. The program was concluded by Prof. Vijay Page, Director General - MET IOM thanked everyone present for the HR Meet and making it a grand success.
