Mindful Parenting @ MRV


MRV conducted a Parenting Workshop for expectant mothers and mothers of toddlers on 4th April, 2014 at MET. Over 40 parents were present at the workshop, eager to learn about early parenthood and what lies ahead. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of leading gynaecologist Dr. Smriti Mhatre, popular paediatrician Dr. Mili Joshi, reputed music therapist Pt. Shashank Katti, nutritionist and diet expert Mrs. Vaishali Shah, eminent counsellor Mrs. Lata Uchhil and MRV pre-school head Mrs. Neelu Kalro.

Mrs. Kavita Sanghvi, Principal, MET Rishikul Vidyalaya introduced the above panel of speakers, each of whom shared their knowledge and experience on effective parenting. Dr. Mhatre advised the audience to bond with their children right from the time it's conceived. In 16 weeks a baby's ears start functioning and within six months a baby recognizes the mother's voice and starts reacting to different sounds. Dr. Joshi spoke on the right techniques to develop a child's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, language and creative needs. Pt. Katti shared with the audience the influence music and sounds have on the growth and development of a child. Mrs. Shah spoke on the importance of eating right and exercising while pregnant. In addition to this, she introduced the concept of breast feeding and various kinds of nutritious foods essential for a new born. Mrs. Uchhil counseled the audience on the right techniques of communication with their children so as to avert aggressiveness and disobedience. Mrs. Kalro introduced the audience to the unique pre-school teaching methodology - MRV's Mother-Toddler concept. The unique parenting workshop concluded with a Q &A session, wherein the prominent panel of speakers solved the queries of the audience on parenting and motherhood.

MRV's Parenting Workshop was a grand success. The audience was delighted with the overwhelming information and accurate guidance they received and looked forward to instantly developing a healthy and strong bond with their child.
