The School Enterprise Challenge is a student-led, business start-up competition for schools around the world. Students develop essential skills in business and entrepreneurship in a practical, fun and innovative way. The competition helps schools generate extra income for their school, over and above all this, it allows the students to get involved in a social cause of their choice to impact the world around them.
MET Rishikul Vidyalaya set up a business which involved making compost, growing saplings and making cloth bags. MRV also promoted the products through pamphlets, brouchers, social media , participating in cultural fairs, children’s magazines and school magazine and awareness workshops on green living. All the sincere efforts have really been paid off well when the award winners were announced.,
Over 1250 schools from 93 countries world over participated in the competition and their businesses ranged from fly fishing in Belize, to an inter-schools newspaper in India and a carwash in South Africa. MET Rishikul Vidyalaya has been awarded the ‘Top Global Winner’ in Stage Two (Business Plan) and have won $2000 in the School Enterprise Challenge 2014. Congratulations to the young entrepreneurs with the societal edge.
