Celebration with a Social Cause
MET was part of the Celebrate Bandra fest – the buzzing annual cultural event of Bandra, Mumbai. Every year the Celebrate Bandra fest showcases art, music, sports, theatre, literature, food & beverages, films, poetry etc.
Today, the information technology has invaded every area of human social life. People today are engrossed in their gadgets and devices. Gaining likes & shares on social platforms have become a matter of pride. The human touch in relationships has given way for the technological smilies. In the process, people within the society and even family are becoming alarmingly delinked. Hence in order to draw attention back to the inevitable part of humanity, that we all need human touch and spoken words, more than the technological one, a huge art installation was done at MET façade which was conceptualised by Minali Thakkar. The 3D art installation of over 2500 sqft, showcased a huge report card comparing the modern day community’s social media life V/s real social life. Huge canvas of web covered life-size mannequins, showing entangled humanity in the technology web. Brightly lit with high end light show in the night it became a major attraction.
Certainly it’s a meaningful social message, aptly communicated at the right time. So lets communicate, the human way.
