MET partners Asia Business Responsibility Summit


‘Asian Centre for Corporate Governance & Sustainability organized ‘Asia Business Responsibility Summit-2014’ at Bombay Stock Exchange International Convention hall, Fort, Mumbai, India on 8th January 2014. MET League of Colleges was the academic partner of the summit.

The Global Guru Mr. Mervyn King, Chairman, IIRC, UK, who has the unique distinction of having authored King's Committee Report I, II & III on Corporate Governance, was the chief guest and delivered keynote address. Dr. (Ms.) Teodorina Lessidrenska - International Sustainability Consultant from Geneva spoke on the latest in ESG reporting. i.e GRI G4 Framework.
Following themes were discussed at the conference:

  • Integrated Reporting (IR) Framework
  • GRI G4 Framework
  • Business Responsibility -  latest concepts and best practices
  • New Companies Act 2013 and its impact on Business Responsibility
  • Sustainability Reporting (ESG)/ Business Responsibility reporting – transparent sharing with stakeholders

Amongst others, Mr. Ratan Tata, Former Head of the Tata Group was bestowed with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Corporate Governance and Mr. Veerappa Moily, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas was given Lifetime Achievement Award for Public Governance.
Digital marketing through social networking sites like LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and coordinating with channel partner CNBC were some of the major tasks performed by our management students apart from the logistics of the entire summit. Dr. Farida Virani, Prof. Jairaj Kochavara and Ms. Remya Ravindran represented MET at the summit.
